Teachers come from all over America to join the Wuhan University Summer Program. Although most teachers have an ESL background, some each year come from English Departments, Communications, and other diverse disciplines.
In the WUSIEP of the past three years, some of the teachers were graduate students, some were teachers with 5-25 years in the field, and some were recently retired. The teaching pool therefore represents an interesting range of age and experience. The most important asset each teacher contributes is a dynamic approach to teaching, “value added” for students outside the classroom, and the enthusiasm to teach interactive lessons.
